Sylvia Buller Isaak
Sylvia Buller Isaak has been a therapist for over 20 years. Graduating from the University of Manitoba with a degree in Psychology, and Applied Counselling, she is a registered Social Worker with the Canadian Collage of Social Workers. Her career has included working with people dealing with life issues such as trauma, addictions, mental health, life changes and challenges; situations that have caused individuals, couples and families to reach out for support during times of struggle or crisis.
During an 11-month span, Sylvia experienced the Palliative care and loss of her father, a life threatening cancer diagnosis of her husband and the tragic murder of her mother; all this while she was parenting her two young children.
These were the life circumstances that Sylvia will describe as some of the darkest yet richest moments of her life. Speaking from personal experience as well as from her professional lens, Sylvia believes that tragedies we experience do not need to define us, and that our dreams can become our destinies but it involves something from within each of us.
She is a highly skilled speaker and communicator and has presented to groups large and small on how life circumstances can add value without making us victims.

Councillor David West
Ward 4, Richmond Hill
A Richmond Hill resident for more than 20 years, David West was appointed to Council on December 4, 2013 to fill the vacancy created when Councillor Foster stepped down and was recently elected in October 2014 to continue as Councillor for Ward 4. David West is honoured to be able to serve his community as a local Councillor. He looks forward to nurturing the many, many great things about Richmond Hill and also helping to bring about change where it is needed.
Councillor David West has served the residents of Richmond Hill for years as a local business owner. He has demonstrated leadership through positions with the Professional Photographers of Ontario, as well as through various positions with the Richmond Hill Chamber of Commerce. He has been Chair of the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee, a member of the Board of Directors and also served as Chair of the Chamber.
